Affordable housing permit The Hague

Since July 1st 2019 the city of The Hague introduced a new rule: The so called ‘Affordable housing permit’. If you would like to rent a property, you sometimes need this permit.

The city of The Hague has introduced a couple of new rules. These rules apply to properties with a base rent price of 
€ 951,- or properties that fall below the line of 185 points based on the calculation of the properties grading system.The municipality will examine whether you are eligible for the rental property. This way inexpensive homes are kept available for people who earn a lower income. 

With every rental property you find in our accomodation offerings, you will find a notice if the Affordable housing permit applies to this property or not. Every tenant is solely responsible for applying for this permit, which is mandatory for the property.

The gross income for one person may not exceed € 61.148 per year, for two persons the maximum salary is limited to 
€ 77.521 on a yearly base.
