City centre of The Hague
The ‘Noordeinde’ Palace and ‘binnenhof’ are well known to locals, though the city centre has much more to offer. From small, cute boutique shops to the best restaurants, a diverse offering of museums, and strong cultural foundation. The different streets and squares each have their own atmosphere and background. For the expat with a job in one of the surrounding cities, who has to commute daily, the city centre is still a great place to live. Many large companies are also located in and around the city centre.

Valkenbos quarter, Regentesse quarter
This area of The Hague is also called the ‘inventors district’. This is due to the many streets that are named in honour of inventors and scientists that are connected to these streets. The districts are multicultural and international. The tram provides an easy way to reach the city centre and the central station.

Zeehelden quarter
The ‘Zeehelden’ quarter is a cozy district located at the edge of the city centre of The Hague, which has significantly grown in the the last years. You can enjoy the perks of living in the city centre, while enjoying the ‘gezelligheid’ (coziness) of the district together with the locals of The Hague. Public transport offers many opportunities to travel to and from the central station.

Archipelbuurt
The ‘Archipelbuurt’, also known as the Indonesian quarter, is filled with history and culture. The most famous past resident is Louis Couperus, a famous Dutch writer. Both the ‘Willemspark’ and the Peace palace are located in this area. In most of the villa’s in the district you will find embassies, which makes the district great for embassy members.

Kijkduin, Ockenburgh and Bohemen
Kijkduin is the second coastal town of The Hague, but smaller than Scheveningen. This district is ideally located to find peace and quiet in the south of Den Haag. On the ‘Wijndaelerduin’ you will find the International school of The Hague, which makes this area perfect for families with children. Currently a monderising project is underway ‘Nieuw Kijkduin’, which aims to provide even more modern facilities for this coastal town.

Bomenbuurt, bloemenbuurt and vruchtenbuurt
This district borders the ‘Valkenbos’ quarter. In the cozy Fahrenheit street you will find a diverse offering of restaurants and cafes. The tram will take you to the city centre in about 15 minutes.

Mariahoeve and Marlot
Mariahoeve is a green residential district located at the edge of The Hague. The beautiful Clingendael park is just a stone’s throw away (tip from the local: try to visit the Japanese garden!). The great location, new the centrally located train station ‘Laan van NOI’, makes this area an ideal base of operations for expats. The British school is also located here.
